TerraTeaTM Application Guide

TerraTea can be used as a soil drench or foliar spray.

IMPORTANT: For Maximum benefit, TerraTea must be used fresh.

You will get the best result if applied in smaller amounts, more frequently. It is always best to apply TerraTea onto soil or foliage that is already wet. There is less stress on the microorganisms going from a liquid environment to a liquid or moist environment. TerraTea will not wash away after a rainstorm. Instead, rain will improve its effectiveness.

TerraTea does not replace a fertilizer or soil nutrients. The microorganisms in TerraTea digest organic matter in the soil and convert them into soluble nutrients for the plants. Digested nutrients will retain in the soil until needed by the plant.

An organic fertilizer should be used from time to time to provide additional nutrients. However, you will notice that less fertilizer is needed due to the abundance of beneficial microbes and previously digested nutrients in the soil.

Use a clean applicator. Never put TerraTea into a container that previously had any type of chemicals in it.

TerraTea can be used all year around. It is effective as long as the soil temperature is above 50 degrees F.

How does temperature effect the time needed to complete the brewing cycle?
86 degrees = 24/hrs
76 degrees = 48/hrs
66 degrees = 96/hrs
50 degrees or less = will not work

How do I know when the TerraTea is ready?
1. There is a ring of bio-slime around the inside of the container
2. There is brownish foam on top of the soup
3. There is an earthy aroma from the soup
4. Prior to being fully brewed, it will have a slightly sweet odor from the nutrient solution not yet being fully consumed by the growing microbial population

Do I need to remove the chlorine from my water before I brew?
If you are on a municipal water supply, it is important that you deplete any added chlorine or chlorimine prior to starting your Worm brew. Listed below are a few options for getting chlorine out of your water:

1. After filling up your pail or tub with water, run the BioBlender for a minimum of 2 hours in the water without any nutrient or compost mixed in.
2. After filling up your pail or tub of water, let it sit uncovered for 2 to 3 days. The chlorine will gas off.
3. If you want to speed up the process, purchase a water filter that removes chlorine.

We also recommend utilizing test strips to confirm the chlorine has been removed.
